This is yet another reason things are fundamentally different than in 2008. We may be in one of the strongest Real Estate Markets in a long time. The median sale price of a home in Santa Barbara was $1.5M last month, down 17.0% since last year. The median sale price per square foot in Santa Barbara is $1.24K, up 5.3% since last year.

California Home Insurance Concerns

Wildfires have burned nearly 10 million acres of forest and destroyed 39,000 homes in California over the last five years, providing a glimpse at just how dire the state’s climate crisis has become.

Yet at a time when it’s more vital than ever for homeowners to have adequate insurance coverage, many carriers have decided to no longer insure homes in certain parts of the state, while others have left the home insurance market altogether. As a result, many California residents are left with little to no options for homeowners insurance — particularly those with homes in areas most at risk of wildfire damage.

2017 and 2018 were two of the most destructive fire seasons with a combined claims payout of almost $300 billion.

Memorial Day

Remembering those that made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. To be grateful that we are fortunate enough to be able to celebrate and honor their lives for their service. Thank you to my father who served in the Calvary in WWII, to my brother Chris who served in Viet Nam (Two tours, bronze star/ Navy Seal), and to all those that continue to serve.

The Upper East
