For the second consecutive year, Carpinteria’s Kevin Costner opened his oceanside estate for a fundraiser to support One805Live!, an organization created in 2018 to support local First Responders, and raised over a million dollars.
The event attracted over 3000 guests including Harry and Meghan with entertainment provided by Maroon 5, Alan Parsons, and John Fogarty. Oprah Winfrey was also on stage interviewing Santa Barbara fireman Sam Dudley.Â
Also in attendance was friend and fellow realtor Adam McKaig whose outreach program to help the homeless received the Heart of the Community Award from some special guests including Price Harry.

Postel Memorial Rose Garden, also known as “The Road Garden,” is adjacent to the Santa Barbara Mission and contains over 1,500 rose plants that are typically in bloom between April and November. The park has a large grassy area making it a great recreational area for families and friends. Although there are no picnic tables, it is a popular destination for picnics on the grass where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the Santa Barbara mission – the “Queen” of California’s 21 missions. Even though the summer homebuying season is officially here, the housing market is still experiencing a winter chill.
The national average 30-year fixed mortgage rate remains elevated compared to last year, hitting a year-to-date high of 6.79% the week ending June 1, according to Freddie Mac.
Though the median existing-home sales price edged lower year-over-year for the fourth consecutive month—a promising sign for home shoppers—experts don’t expect substantial, nationwide price declines anytime soon.

The annual Santa Barbara Summer Solstice Parade and Festival has been a City tradition since the early 1970s. Each year spectators line the streets to see the homegrown parade and an amazing outpouring of creativity from the community.
In its 49th year, the Solstice Parade and Festival is the largest arts event in Santa Barbara County, drawing crowds of over 100,000 spectators and participants from around the world. The 2023 parade will start at noon, June 24 at the corner of Santa Barbara St. and Ortega and proceed to Alameda Park for the festival.
The festival will take place Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, June 23rd, 24th & 25th. The festival is free and open to the public and will include a full musical lineup as well as a variety of food and merchant vendors and a beer and wine garden.
