Don’t Let Your Smart Home Get Hacked!

Being able to control lights and heating in our homes via the internet is becoming ever more popular, but these systems can make our homes and personal data vulnerable. If your device isn’t properly secured, then hackers may access your personal data. Poor security on smart home gadgets is one of the most common potential entry points for hackers. So always change the original default password for a strong secure unique password. Ideally, use random words or phrases containing a mixture of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols.

Always apply any software updates to your devices as soon as they are available. This is how manufacturers close any security loopholes that have been discovered. Regularly check for new updates too which can usually be found in the app that’s used to set up and control your device.
